The import ban under federal Land legislation is not an absolute import ban. The locally competent authorities of the Land in which the dog is intended to be kept permanently, in spite of a ban, can issue an official authorisation to keep the dog.

Before travelling, you should make inquiries at your local competent office of public order if you have any doubts about the breeds of dog classified as dangerous or about the documents required.
