In the event of any indication that collection of the tax may be at risk, the main customs office may require tax debtors to furnish security up to an amount equivalent to the tax that can normally be expected to accrue over a period of two months (§ 9 Aviation Tax Act (Luftverkehrsteuergesetz - LuftVStG) and § 3 Aviation Tax Implementing Regulation (Luftverkehrsteuer-Durchführungsverordnung - LuftVStDV).
