How long will it take to grant the application?

The decision about the grant of your application, and your notification about the decision will, in principle, take place within 30 working days.

After the custom’s ZGR unit has received the application documents, the legislative requirements and the information you have provided are examined. If there are any issues needing clarification they will soon be discussed with you directly and bureaucratic steps. should your application be incomplete, it will be returned to you so that you can revise or complete it. If this happens you will receive an examination notice via ZGR-online explaining which details and information are still needed in your application. You will have ten working days to revise and/or complete it. Please bear in mind that we must reject your application if you have not reworked it within this period.

Once your application has been granted all the customs offices and customs investigation offices in Germany will be informed of it via our information platform.
