Businesses affected by the import of counterfeit products and the Customs administration must cooperate closely in a spirit of mutual trust to prevent the import of such products into the EU internal market. While successful seizures by the Customs are a reflection of the high commitment shown by Customs investigation and clearance officials, they are a reminder, at the same time, that the counterfeiters continue to produce goods without respite, which is why the efforts to combat this form of economic crime must continue at the same high level of dedication.
