Industrial property

Trademark and product piracy are obstacles to fair competition and the creation of new jobs. This applies particularly to a country like Germany which makes high-value products.

However, it is not only German businesses that are faced with the problem of seeing their high-value products being copied, manufactured at substantially lower cost exploiting cheap labour, and usually in poorer quality, to be sold at rock-bottom prices on the European market.
In these cases the Customs does its best to safeguard fair competition in the interests of both businesses and employees.
