The trade with medicinal products in Germany is strictly regulated under the German Medicinal Products Act (Arzneimittelgesetz - AMG) in order to protect public health. The shipment of narcotics by post is prohibited without limitation under the Universal Postal Convention and under the rules of the Universal Postal Union.

What are narcotics?

Narcotics are the substances and preparations listed in Annexes I to IIIof the German Narcotic Drugs Act (Betäubungsmittelgesetz - BtMG). Medicinal products containing any substances listed in the above Annexes are likewise considered narcotics.
