Nationals of the European Economic Area (EEA) States, of Switzerland, and European Union citizens do not require a residence title or a work permit.
Nationals of the following states do not require a permit:

- United Kingdom
Normally, this waiver also extends to other family members - regardless of their nationality.
Family members from third countries can receive a specific certificate showing that they are entitled to free movement. For Swiss citizens and their families, such certificate will take the form of a residence title.

Other registration or authorisation requirements that likewise apply to German nationals remain unaffected.
