Species protection

When consignments are dispatched by post, irrespective of whether they are being imported or exported, all the provisions of species protection legislation and all documentation requirements must be fully complied with.

Exceptions to the documentation requirements, such as those which apply to travellers for items of personal use, do not apply to consignments dispatched by post unless they consist of hunting trophies that are being sent on (after taxidermy abroad, for example), which under certain conditions are not subject to documentation requirements if brought with you when entering Germany.

Note

You should be aware that animal health legislation and animal welfare legislation could also be involved.
