Competent main customs office

The competent main customs office (excise legislation) is the principal customs office of the district from which the person(s) specified in the various provisions operate their business or, if you they not operate a business, the principal customs office of the district in which they are resident. For businesses that are operated from outside the tax territory, or for persons not resident within the tax territory, the locally competent main customs office is the one in whose district the persons first appear for taxation purposes.
